Today is #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving.

Following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday offers a chance to give something back after all that shopping! #GivingTuesday encourages everyone to donate time, money or their voice to help a good cause.

This #GivingTuesday, and Christmas season, we’ll be highlighting our ongoing work at Speranta, a FOUR PAWS dog shelter in Romania, which is home to more than five hundred dogs.

In Romania, stray dogs are considered a pest, and dog hunters work full-time to remove them from the streets. In 2014, the Romanian government introduced a ‘killing law’ – now, strays not rehomed within 14 days must be terminated. Thousands of loving dogs die every year as a result.

Speranta never puts a healthy dog down, so the dogs there are safe – but the team at Speranta desperately needs help.
This #GivingTuesday, we’re asking you to donate to FOUR PAWS or help us raise awareness, as we begin a £150,000 project that will transform Speranta into a dream home for rescued dogs.

Rescued dogs like Mara. After she was left paralysed by a botched operation, Mara was callously abandoned by her owner. When we found her, she was desperately trying to crawl back home. It has taken her a long time to settle in at Speranta, but with the help of her handmade wheelchair, she’s finally back to playing with the other dogs.

Your gift this #GivingTuesday could help save the lives of hundreds of dogs in Romania like Mara. Please give whatever you can to help the dogs in Speranta and help animals in need around the world.
