More than 500 people turned up to march for lions on a sunny Saturday.

Marching from Cavendish Square to Downing Street, supporters and representatives from FOUR PAWS, LionAid, Born Free Foundation, IFAW, One Protest and Brian May’s Save Me Trust rallied together to call for an end to lion trophy hunting!

Outside Downing Street, we heard impassioned speeches from Virginia McKenna (Born Free), Pieter Kat (LionAid), Green MEP Jean Lambert, and the actor James Cosmo, as well as FOUR PAWS’ own Brian da Cal. And we watched as delegates from our charities delivered a letter to the PM—demanding a ban on lion trophy imports into the UK once and for all.

This march was  a great opportunity for charities and the public to join forces in a united front, but it also allowed us to finally put a face to the names of many FOUR PAWS supporters.

We met people from near and far—Marge M travelled all the way from Merseyside to attend, while Suzanne D bravely marched for the first time. And John P was joined by three generations of his family!

This is only the beginning. Please watch this space as we prepare to continue the campaign against this cruel practice.

We liked marching so much, we’re going to run for animals as well!

The FOUR PAWS team (some of us at least) will be participating in the Superhero Run at Regent’s Park in London on 15 May. We’ll be joining  thousands of superheroes as we run 5/10k in support of our favourite charity—FOUR PAWS.

Collectively, we’ll be running 25k for FOUR PAWS and we’re hoping  to raise £100 a kilometre—will you help us reach our goal?

Your gift today will help support our vital work with animals around the world.

Support our challenge!
