Mid Suffolk Council: reject plans for new egg incubation facility

Will you help us prevent the inevitable suffering of 170,000,000 chickens and urge Mid Suffolk Council to reject proposals for a new egg incubation facility?

An application has been proposed for a huge egg incubation facility in Mid Suffolk. We cannot let this happen.

This facility will hatch 170,000,000 chicks each year and send them to intensive poultry units once old enough. Factory farming denies these intelligent, social animals a chance for a full and natural life. Chickens suffer needlessly on these factory farms, only to be killed for their meat, if they don’t die even sooner due to the appalling living conditions.

With your help, we can stop this intensive egg incubation facility from being built. Please act now.

READ MORE - WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT

Not only do chickens suffer in unimaginable conditions during their short lives, but these factory farms are also hotspots for zoonotic disease outbreaks and add significantly to greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to climate change.

This egg incubation facility would be a huge step backwards for animal welfare, encouraging more facilities like it to be built across the country, undermining decades of work by animal welfare organisations.

We must move away from intensive agricultural systems, and instead transition to sustainable, nature-friendly farming solutions that prioritise animal welfare and climate mitigation.

Please ask Mid Suffolk Council to reject this proposal and prevent hundreds of millions of chickens from suffering needlessly.
