The process of extracting bile is harrowing, and the conditions they are kept in only exacerbate their suffering. Eventually, they will die alone in their cages.

A desperate life.

Teo spent at least 17 years of his life in a tiny cage on a bear farm, exploited for his bile. As a result of the torture he went through, he has severe cardiovascular disease and hypertension, liver and gallbladder disease, and osteoarthritis in his lumbar spine and knees.

We need your help before it’s too late.

Teo was rescued in February 2022 thanks to the support of people like you. He now lives at BEAR SANCTUARY Ninh Binh where he receives all the care he needs and can live life as he should – he’s even made a friend in another bear, Tin, who was rescued on the same mission.

There are still 228 bears trapped in captivity on cruel bile farms who desperately need our help.
